This croton was introduced through the late John Veitch from the South Sea Islands, the foliage bears a strong resemblance to the well-known vulgar Aucuba japonica of gardens.

Large green leaf, spotted yellow, Underside pinkish.

Type J, 2 1/2" x 10" - Ground color deep green heavily spotted bright yellow. Reverse of leaf is reddish with red midrib.
