Palm cabbage product.


Introduction

The palm cabbage is made from the surrounding tissue of the apical bud and to extract this product the palm itself must be felled. Many people eat this food and consider it a delicacy. Also known as " hearts of palm ". It is often prepared in salads and other recipes as the "Arroz con palmito" which means rice with palm heart. Countries like Brazil, Costa Rica, Venezuela and Paraguay export this product; France is the largest importer.
