Habitat: Brazil (Bahia). Solitary trunk palm. Height up to 10m. The origin of the species name was not found. Lorenzi et al. , 2010, p. 358 state: "This species is a fertile natural hybrid between Syagrus vagans and Syagrus coronata, occurring in geographical regions where populations of both species overlap."
