A variable dwarf species that is particularly beautiful. It is multistemmed, has a brightly colored crownshaft (yellow with reddish brown fur) and reaches a little over 2 m (7 ft.) tall. Its wide leafblades have only two to three broad leaflets per side and are dark green above with an attractive yellowish mottling, and grayish waxy below. Pinanga polymorpha is native to montane rainforest in Malaysia and Thailand. In cultivation it prefers shady, moist spots in the understorey and will do well in tropical and subtropical climates. It also makes a very attractive potted plant. Seeds are guaranteed to be absolutely fresh and will be shipped moist to ensure viability. (RPS.com)
