Comments and Curiosities
Up until last year, we were selling seeds of this palm as Dypsis cabadae; however, as it turns out, it is not D. cabadae, which was said to have "only recently been rediscovered in the wild in the Sohoa rainforest on the Comoro Islands." After a closer inspection of the palms from which our seeds come, it appears that what we have is a completely new, apparently undescribed species with characteristics similar to both D. cabadae and D. lanceolata. It is a midsized, clustering palm with leathery, dark, glossy green leaves; oblong, scarlet red fruits; and slim, attractively ringed, slender, bluish green trunks. It is easy to germinate and fast growing and will thrive in both tropical and subtropical climates. (RPS.com) Editing by edric.
