The type specimen was collected from Fujian.

Description

Erect, tufted, 2-5 meters high, or higher, 2.5-4.5 cm stem diameter, internode short section protrusion. Leaves pinnatisect, non-fiber whip, more than two meters long; pinnae majority, each slice into 2-6 groups gather in leaf axis on both sides, and point in different directions, sword-shaped linear maximum length 50 cm, 2-2.5 cm wide, the upper gradient short, in the vein of both sides and edges sparsely spinulose; rachis claw back of a solitary thorn; the back and sides with a strong petiole slightly flat 2-3 cm long black spines; sheath does not have cystic bumps, densely slightly varying lengths flat black spines.
