I found this today near Miami Beach, cant put my thumb on what the name is!
Looks like Kentucky.
a kentucky that comes out with a brand new flush of solid bright red?
It does resemble Kentucky.
As for the new flush of leaves coloring, one must take into account environmental conditions and the genetic instability of these plants. A single snap shot makes it difficult to determine an accurate ID sometimes.
Observations over time or looking at the older leaves give some indications of an ID. Just my two cents worth.
That is an amazing red flush of leaves, no matter what cultivar it is.
Rob - I hope a cutting made it into the mist house?
