Looking at my Charmer the other day, I noticed something unusual. When my crotons branch naturally, new stem budding occurs at the base of a petiole. This leaf grew out and then a stem bud is found emerging "higher up" on the petiole, not at the base. 
Has anyone else experienced this anomoly?
