Something about Mortii..

In the tropics, this was a very strong grower for me - even growing in a box I stored it in for a couple of weeks while I moved. Now in a cooler climate it never grows up, it just constantly flowers and has remained small (it never flowered in the tropics for me). Does anyone know why it constantly flowers and won't grow leaves? What can I do to help it? I keep it moist as it is always very thirsty and it is in a warm, partly shaded spot. I've attached pics.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Flowering in can be a response to stress,Maybe a little too cold??Can you move it into a warmer spot with more sun??
