Earlier this summer, I went all out and was putting airlayers on many, many crotons in the yard. On October 2nd,3rd and 4th, which are the dates to our 11th Annual Fall Extravaganza Sale, I will be offering close to 150 varieties of crotons, some of which will be for the first time. My good friend Ryan Gallivan gets credit for taking these pictures. I will post a few samples that you can expect to find, but as you know, many are in very limited quantities. First come......you get it!

And thanks to the moderating team, for allowing me to post these.

Ryan PM me the partial "in the works" list of cultivars. Most impressive to say the least. I can't wait for the final revision.

This beautiful croton is questionable as far as having ever been named. It came from the old Richard Krukonis property down in North Miami. The closest croton that looks similar to this one is Columbiana, but, this has much larger leaves. Bob Alonzo will see this soon and we'll see if it's a new un-named one or not. I would like to call it "Father's Day" if possible. I will have 2 or 3 of these giants to offer.

Jeff - could it be possible that when I go to your sale that I leave without purchasing a single palm? If you keep posting pictures of awesome cultivars like these, that is a distinct possibility.

    Jeff,

Will you have any Clipper for sale? How about Commotion?

A list of available cultivars would really be nice ;)

Ray - here is a draft of the yet to be completed list. Ryan sent it to me as a courtesy, more to come and spelling check to follow. Comotion is on there. I do not see Clipper. Jeff is holding until Bob Alonzo makes his much anticipated visit.

There are a few mis-spelled in the above list. Please bear with us as we are putting this "rough" list together. And, there will most likely be some name changes before the days over. The new updated list will be ready sometime next week. Thanks for your patience.

I'm fairly certain this is Royal Flush. I'll find out soon. The reds are pretty intense on this one.

This is a croton I'm calling Yellow Croc. So far, I haven't seen it anywhere. I took a cutting up to Dr. Browns a few months ago when Bob Alonzo was there visiting and neither one of them could ID this. Once you see it in person, it's a croton that is very distinct from any others.

Hey....life is not always fair. NO....I'm just kidding. The Glocks volunteer at every sale, since the very first one, eleven years now, and never has missed one. I think Jim mentioned the other day something about "only" having about $800 budgeted for crotons for the upcoming sale. Ahh, just kidding.

Ron, I'm sure if your here at 8am, there will be plenty to choose from. I highly recommend that prior to coming, you might want to get a "wish" list together of some of the ones your after.

    Dave,

Thanks, I appreciate that. I'm getting some real good positive feedback and expect the croton customers to be a little shock when they first arrive. Well......early friday morning that is.

Here's Sybil Griffen. You can't see the lower leaves, but they are gigantic! I also have found that this variety does pretty well in good shade and still holds lots of it's colors.

Jeff how about a photo of the slow growing Spirale? The one I got at your November meeting/auction last year is doing well. From a historical perspective, that's an old classic you just don't see around.
