Amazed me. I've never seen the tropical Papaya grown here.
I hear ya Stan. I would call that amazing as well. I am doubtful the fruit is very good, but it looks like that could surprise me as well. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Dean. I was put on to this plant by Andy aka "Delonix" who lives in San Diego but had lived in Hayward for years and was visiting here. He made me laugh- he said he saw that and "Had a flashback to San Diego"
I know,the taste might not be sweet. On the other hand- Its only March,and if those are Hawaiian Papayas they have until December to get ripe. If they are Mexican Maridols?..That's even more fun. How big will they get? but those need close to two years to ripen don't they?
I cant get over the size of the trunk too. Its in perfect condition..no taper,no marks from cold.
