Hey Judy, Wasn't Daisy's Pride previously ID'd as Shady Lane. or was that a different plant. This is a photo i took last June, of I think the same plant.

Randy, this is a different croton from your pic. I got this croton labeled Daisy's Pride at Jeff's sale last October. I agree it is similar, but have never seen a DP to compare. Guess I will wait and see how it looks in a few months. If anyone else has one I would love to hear their comments!

Really great good sized plants with very vivid color... Just wondering can anyone post Tiffany with Green Gold. I thought I got a green and gold from Scott in Ft. Myers years ago, maybe not.

Tiffany comes in two forms: one looks like a giant Green & Gold; other version has a lot more mxing of the yellow and green. Will try for some pics later today.

Judy - I recall when you got this croton two Rambles ago. It has really grown alot! :)

Sadly the large specimen plant at Fairchild was removed from the garden. :(

Aubrey Christian Mystery croton (Ray). Hmmm - I got a rooted cutting from Keith awhile back that looks very simular to your croton Judy. Keith attributed that Ray had found the croton growing in the Tampa area of which he obtained a cutting. I got my plant tagged as The Finest Unknown - Ray. Just curious if this is the same cultivar?

The sun came up so I took some photos of The Finest Unknown for comparison to Judy's plant.

Limelight - I believe this is one of Jeff Searle's seedlings. The mother palnt really catches the eye. Need one badly in the Moose Land! Unfortunately, Jeff has never offered Limelight for sale. This is a rare cultivar that Jeff as distributed only a few to a couple of priviledged gardens for preservation in case something happens to the mother plant. In time, this croton should start to become available. ;)

Judy, Jeff - how is the rate of growth on Limelight? Jeff - any cuttings in the mist house yet?

Survivor - I suspect this is another of Jeff Searle's seedlings, named after his favorite reality show. This is another cultivar that he may not has offered at his sales yet. It is better to get a new and promising cultivar established in a few gardens first. There have been many exceptional cultivars developed over the years that did not get established in mutiple gardens, only to perish from some unfortunate events.

    Ron,

I'll clear up a few things for you. Limelight is not my seedling, but a good friend of mine. I have a couple of plants growing nicely now and will be more than happy to put 2-3 cuttings in the mist house this summer. Survivor is one that I named, not my seedling but after several years growing it and showing everyone, a name was never established. I also only have 2-3 plants in the yard, but I have had this one offered before, just a plant here and there.

Oh, and the Cutler plant, I obtained this plant over 10 years ago under the name Cutler #34. Many people have seen it, don't know it or have it. As of now, I have no other information to share.
