    bought the attached picture post card on eBay. Note the inscription;
    Royal Palm at nursery of J.J. Soar, Little River, Fla.

    Card is used and cancelled SEP 10, 1917 Jacksonville, FLA

    Most likely the John Soar for whom the croton was named after. john-soar001.jpg

    Really cool Phil! A quick search found reading enjoyment on google books, keywords john soar and little river. New york botanical garden journal, volume 14, page 82. 1913. I know what I'm reading tonight!!
