I know this sounds crazy but there is a 10-20% chance that we might get a tropical
Storm passing here tomorrow.A new invest 90L has formed to our southwest and will be passing over us either as bad weather or tropical or subtropical storm monday.Let us see what happens.Info copied from Dr Masters weather underground site is below.
For those who do not know this, Weather Underground is the best Tropical site by a wide margin to follow during hurricane season. No hyping like Accuweather, just great info.

Only 2 strong cold fronts have pushed into the Gulf this winter and the water is remarkably warm for Feb

Croton & Palm Foreplay in the Scott Land! ;)

Very nice wave of rain started hitting the Moose Land at 4:00 am. The pelting on the roof woke me up. Looks like another large wave down in the upper Keys is heading this way next. :D

Its friggin Feb. 7th! I cannot ever recall a system moving in from the south like this at this time of year.

Woke up this morning to a very wet yard. And much needed! We received 2 1/2" overnight. This has got to be one of the warmest winters on record for this area.

Got a trace of rain at the house. The sprinklers ran this morning as usual. I'm taking today's 50% rain chance with a grain of salt.

Well - we got to remind ourselves that it is February, this morning temps should bring back the reality. Forecasting proved to be spot on here.

    Monitoring my temps:

    3:00 am - 54F
    4:00 am - 53F
    5:00 am - 52F
    6:00 am - 50F

Winds are 13 mph, gusting to 26 mph. These winds negate any micro-clime warmth retention created by a canopy. Does provide some protection from wind damage. Pretty thick cloud cover observed, kept temps from going any lower.

Forecast: Today - Temps to rise to 63 F by 3:00 pm.

Tomorrow 50F overnight low 70F the high

Basically a typical February cold front. Couple of days of cold then temps return to a comfortable zone for our plants. Hopefully you guys in central and Tampa Bay areas are experiencing the same just only 10 degrees less. See Ft. Myers reporting 40F - seems that a freeze was avoided.

Lets hear what your garden temps experienced?

Ron, did you get any sleep last night? 48 here in the 'Springs at 8 o'clock. Not just the cold but that dry wind is going to get to all those new buds just starting to emerge. I remember a March 28 freeze here in S Fla.

Bren - 34F now but maybe it was 38F at 3:00 am. And you should be warming already. Some cold evidence yes but it is not like if you saw 34F all night.

I predict the plants will be much better than you dread. :)
