    here's a good reason why a few leaves or cutting can be difficult to identify. All the pics are Gen Mac - but some in shade and last one in sun...

    I had thought at one time this was thought to be Gen. Macarthur. Yes, no? It is one of my larger plants in a 10 gal and about 5' tall.

    Definetely not a Gen Mac. GM has a semi oak leaf shape (and lots of unsusual coloring and patterns depending on light). Once you see a larger specimen then the whole thing starts to make some sense.

    General MacArthur has been a relatively fast croton for me. It is a beauty that catches one's eye from across the yard. ;)

    General MacArthur.jpg One of the easier to locate cultivars and for good reason. Relatively fast, large leaves with brilliant colors. What is not to love about a nicely hued General MacArthur?
