Down in the Keys our Shady Lane is doing some strange things with the leaves. We hope that it continues to do this. I thought that I would post a few pictures of it.

Sold to Jeff Searle....the only problem is that the plant has been in the ground for 4 or 5 years........it is very slow.

Marie Nock has a very nicely colored Shady Lane as well. Makes a Wilma's growth rate seem fast ...

    Jim,
My "Shady Lane" is in full sun from about mid morning to about mid afternoon or so. It loves it. It is very fast and is huge. The leaves look very similiar sans the markings around the leaf border. Many leaves are so deep red that it is quickly becoming one of my top 5 favs!

Very fast shady lane??? Rick, this is one of the slowest crotons around, even with Liquid Fertilizer!

Well, I have to disagree. At least mine is not extremely fast, but not slow either. It's in a container which always get TLC and is about 4 years old now.

Well, it IS true that crotons love more acidic soil. Let me see if I can post a picture.

While going to Key West last week I stopped by the Glock's Southern Compound to load up on eye candy & cuttings:D (just kidding Judy!). This one is a stunner & really caught my eye. A unique leaf pattern.

If I saw a small air layer of this plant I'd be in trouble. Hmmm, make the mortgage payment, outbid everyone for the plant - make the mortgage payment, outbid everyone for this plant - ...

Just curious if this plant continued to grow with that leaf pattern or eventually outgrew it.
