Does anyone have the variety "Elaine"?
Or a picture?
Yes, but it is 10pm so you'll have to wait until Friday. The pics will show a plant that was in part shade most of the day under the fronds of a Sabal causiarum - until about 6 weeks ago when I had it removed due to Texas Palm Decline. The preponderance of yellows is due to its sudden introduction to bright light. In part shade it develops nice pinks. It air layers easily and is a good solid grower.
Aha, just found two pics which are attached. Elaine is to the right on first pic and is the one in-line with the palm trunk on the second. Close up shots tomorrow.... It has a lot more delicate coloring than AFD #5 and a few others with which it is commonly confused.
... and a few close-up pics.
And so this probably isn't "Elaine".
AFD # 7...... I think
The last one is known as Nervia in the trade. Johnny Shelton suggested it was another AFD creation but the cultivar number is unknown. It's a bit different from #5 or #7.
Man..... I could never these right....
Wait a minute... is Nervia and AFD #2 the same?
