Looking for some advice on experience in FL with Dypsis madagensarensis. Likely butchered that spelling, ha. I thought I bought 2 veitchia johannis at a garden sale today. I'm intrigued enough by this palm not to haul it back and return it. They look totally different, just paid no attention after my cart was loaded. I am 3 blocks off the ocean with good winds. Plenty of sun but is this salt tolerant & moderate in growth? My space is at a premium.

Bren, I think you will be pleased with the palm. From what I have read on the palm it has some salt tolerance and a moderate grower.

I too think you should keep it. As far as Dypsis goes, it should be one of the easier ones - and shouldn't be all that common for your area - so will add a little diversity.
