This Dypsis canaliculata has two growth points (meristem). Never has received any damage that I am aware of. Has anyone else experienced this anomaly with this species?

There are older photos of this palm in the Wiki.

I think I have this palm - but not big enough to split yet. These Dypsis are weird creatures. What you have could be a one of a kind, or it could be a trait. But many species will have an odd ball individual that does that. I'll keep a close look at my three, as they are only a couple of years behind yours.

    Ron,

I'm glad to hear/see your palm is doing so well, and even happier that mine's doing great too. This is going to be a beautiful palm as it gets bigger.:)
