Dr Brown is named for B. Frank Brown author of "The Cordyline King Of Tropical Foliage" book. The namesake Ti is a must have plant and makes a bold statement in the garden. This Ti has big (16"x6") bold leaves in a dark almost black red with bold streaks of red . This one performs well in part sun as well a shade conditions and is a moderate grower

I didn't realize he had passed away. I visited his home six years or so ago. He was an interesting man and was nice enough to arrange for me to go to a wholesale ti grower in Homestead.
