    Hi King David… thanks for your comment regarding MORTII and its red petioles in my photo essay to the Forum DTDSAT27MAY2016.


    MORTII also has the habit of throwing out all yellow leaves (mentioned in my re: essay), also accompanied by yellow petioles and sometimes even the stem will turn yellow. Please see the following numbered descriptions along with the attached 6 photos addressing this curious but attractive quirk:


    1. MORTII as I first found it back in AUG2013…

    2. …with green petioles on the younger flush below & red petioles on the branch above-center.

    3. The same cultivar as in photo #01 about a yr. later…

    4. … not uncommon for some leaves to morph into a dominate yellow.

    5. Most flushes will hold their pinkish to red petioles…

    6. … but some may turn into an all yellow leaf and petiole that also frequently includes the branch stem. :)

    Robert, I like your demonstrations. There is another pink-petioled example in the wiki. I think I will show and mention that. Thanks for your comments and observations.
