EDWIN T. MEREDITHCategory: NARROW LEAF
Bush type croton that does not get leggy. Named after E.T.Meredith the founder of the magazine that later became Better Homes and Gardens.
Type B, 1-1/2" x 12", - Long narrow leaves, veins and midrib long outlined brilliant yellow and leaf more or less splashed yellow. An improvement on WEISMANII*, the leaves being longer and plant more vigorous grower. REF: Paper prepared by Wm. A. Geiger in collaboration with Mr. Christian of the Christian Nursery, Mr. Van der Lean and Mr. George L. Peacock. p.10, p.16.
Long, narrow leaves, brilliantly colored mustard yellow with red petioles. REF: Reasoner's Tropical Nurseries Inc, croton listing. Group 1, Common Varieties, p.2.
FORUM CONTRIBUTORS:
SCOTT MCINTOSH: “Is Edwin T Meredith more of a spreading grower than a height grower? Mine grows out more than up. It is going to get lost in the back if it doesn't gain much height.”
RAY HERNANDEZ: “Edwin T. Meredith - another narrow leaved, mustard yellow variety with veining a bit less distinct than Sunray but no blotching or spotting like Weismanii. The dead giveaway here is the red petioles.”
