Scott, the first one looks like Challenger. Where did you find it?
Ray, I do not remember, but I think I found this one at the Oldsmar Nursery 2 yrs ago. It was Id here as Laurens Rainbow, but this is a pic of one plant of the 7 plants in the plant cluster looks diffrent than the other 6 as it is alot more colorful.
#1 looks like what was ID'd as my challenger. Mine came crom Dolan's in St. Pete. Will get pics tomorrow.
Scott - My first gut reaction when I saw your croton in post #1 was that it was a Challenger. I have neither Challenger nor Lauren's Rainbow so I was not positive.
Your second croton could be several different cultivars. I think it needs to develope more before an attempt of at a definitive ID can be made. I recently got a load of small "unkowns" rooted cuttings. I am so tempted to post photos and ask for ID's. However, they are too small and need to develope into their true selves.
Scott - you seem to find so many oddities.
Here is a photo of the group planting.
It's not Lauren's Rainbow, that is certain. I would say Challenger.
RAY....I would agree.
