Sad Day for All Members of Our Croton Family

This is horrible news. I'm so sorry for Jerry and his family. They will be in my prayers over the coming weeks. Brenda was one of the kindest people I'd ever met. She and my wife Miriam really bonded during the 2012 Thailand Biennial.

    Blotched A.B. Cartledge

No idea who he was but just a note on the plant name. There is no blotched AB Cartledge. The blotched one is the only one. The uglier one that's out there is just out of color. In a perfect world, they would all be blotched.

Another brief cold snap heading our way, weather up North looks ugly!!

I got down to 36F last Friday morning. No leaf drop from this event that hadn't already been triggered by the long, cool winter we've had up here. The narrow leaved usual suspects began dropping leaves in December and is par for the course every winter. Too much to air layer this year so...

    cold front

I had 49F here on Sunday morning. Typically, I'm a degree or 2 warmer than Tampa's official airport reading. Phil, the AO looks very negative in a few weeks which spells a cold blast. November freezes are very uncommon (last one in Tampa was 1970) so we're overdue.

    Gigantic specimen

It doesn't seem to mind the tree. In fact, there seems to be a nice "agreement" between the two plants.
