The Tropical Fern & Exotic Plant Society is holding its annual fund raising auction of rare plants next Monday evening, October 22, 2018 in the Garden House at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Enter through the South Gate. There is no admission charge. There will be many crotons available to bid on including a Barack Obama. Others that will be available include: Sybil Giffin, Arrowhead, Tortoise Shell, Irene Kingsley, Geisha Girl, Purity, Joanna Coppinger, Pretty Bird, Cornbread, Inca, Earl of Derby, Eleanor Fischer, Dolores, Plaid Oak and Butterball. There will be other varieties as well; I'm just not aware of them right now.

The "preview" begins at 7:00 pm and auctioneer, Jeff Searle, will begin the auction at 7:30. Many other varieties of plants will be available from palms to calatheas, ferns, medinillas and much more. Food and drink will be available. You don't have to be a member to come out and join the festivities. It promises to be a fun evening!

Thank you Marie for mentioning this. This is not only a night when many great plants can taken home but it's a fun night to spend socializing with so many plant lovers. If you never have come out to one of these, please try to come. There's something for everyone.

Hope you can attend. It's a fun event and always has many rare and unusual plants including some great crotons. See you Monday. Marnie
