This, was a first for me as I walked in the doors at my local grocery store. As you enter the store on the left they have a floral shop and I had a nice surprise that jumped to my eyes. A tropical bouquet with white edged green leaf Ti stems and palm leaves. I looked the Ti stems over and they looked good enough to root. $5 for three nice Ti cuttings, not bad.

Ti plants should be used much more in bouquets, especially with cane intact. Because, as you know, they will stay looking fresh probably longer than any other foliage plant ever could - in a cut flower scenario.

These were a easy root and are growing great with roots out the bottom of the 1 gal. pots.

I am so tempted to pull this one out of the pot to see what is going on. After eight weeks into its rooting I have a ground shoot emerging about a inch from the canes.

Hey ScotTi, heading to the grocery down here in KEY WEST, I've been meening to check out our floral dept at winn dixie and publix to see if I could be so lucky! Regarding that shoot next to your two canes in the pot, my first response is to think it is an axillary bud coming up from one of the rooted canes. I had a kiwi ti I kept in water in the bathroom window that sent four sprouts up after I finally got it outside and potted up. Watcha think?

Mark, That was my thinking also. I just have not seen it on a Ti so quick after rooting. But my curiosity got the best of me as always.

I was a little worried on the July floral bouquet Ti find as the cuttings had only green stems. The tops went downhill and I thought it would be a failure.

But have no fear...
