I Don't Understand ...

I got this Bogoriensis from Keith a few years back. It just starting shedding all its leaves. Here are the before and after pics ...

I guess no one else understands why either from the apparent lack of a response.

Bogoriensis is not at all cold hardy. I've had several of mine defoliate from a cold snap. Good time to cut it back.
