    Spring croton tour

A huge thank you to Mike and all involved in making this happen. The property looked amazing! What a perfect day for a gathering of plant enthusiasts and friends.

Is anyone bringing a Claude Lorraine?

    Spring croton tour

Yes! Lamar, this is what I refer to as Yellow Iceton. This is the other plant that I need. I acquired the Arrowhead already from another member.

    Spring croton tour

I have a client who specifically asked me for an Arrowhead and a yellow Iceton, neither of which I have in my inventory. If anybody could bring one, I would appreciate it (so would my client)!

    Missing Exotica

Marie, I was both saddened and angered upon reading your post this morning. My initial thoughts are that the plant has indeed been stolen out of your property, and I can only hope to be proven wrong in that summation. If that is indeed the case, as growers and collectors, it is completely...

    Big crotons (pics)

Unfortunately, due to the distance that the plants are from the camera, is not possible for me to positively ID any of these crotons. Is there any way that you can get some up close detail of the leaves?

    Croton event ??

Thank you so much Mike & Mike for hosting and organizing this event. It was terrific to see so many of the "usual heads" there, and to see new faces as well.

    Where are the photos?

Mike, I agree with you. It does not look like Don Quixote. It is however, rather slow in its growth. Not anywhere near as painfully slow as the Bob Sabourne hybrid is, but slow nonetheless. Ironically, it didn't skip a beat even after being through Irma. IMO, it is a beautiful croton. Do you...

    Where are the photos?

Unfortunately, they do not sell their crotons. They are utilized for their landscape installations only. I needed to get some native trees and shrubs (Pimenta racemosa, Myrcianthes fragrans, Eugenia foetida, and Psychotria nervosa), and I can usually find what I am looking for at this...

    Where are the photos?

This is a Mona Lisa in the garden of Plant Creations nursery in Homestead. Absolutely stunning in my opinion. The overall size of this croton is about 10 ft high by 8 ft or so wide. Give or take a foot.

    Halgrim's Bob Alonso

I heard back from Ron Parlett again. His response to my inquiry was this: "As it turns out, the plant we all have is called Bob Alonzo. The hybridizer was Halgrim himself. Marie's plant is the same. Either she added Halgrim's name in front of it, or the person she got it from did. Now there...

    Halgrim's Bob Alonso

I heard back from Ron Parlett yesterday. He said that there are indeed two different plants carrying the Bob Alonso name. He also suggested that the Halgrim's Bob Alonso was a much older plant. I'm waiting for additional info on the source of origin for the "newer" Bob Alonso. I'll keep you...
