... who has the fairest croton of them all?

Tropical Fern & Exotic Plant Society Show at Fairchild June 1st & 2nd. Many croton lovers have joined this group. Plus the Society members are embracing crotons more and more as they are exposed to so many varieties. Due to this big interest, The Society's board has decided to make a new award for "Best Croton in Show". :D

Mike - Yes, Marie & Steve plus ...

Chris (pocomo), Kip & Janet (Kipjanet), Jackie & Marie (The Sisters), CiCi, Ellis Brown, Jose, Marnie were all there last year.

Tim Anderson's Nursery will be there (Palm Hammock). Tim Anderson showed up on Sunday last year, not sure if he will make it this show.

Jeff Searle recently renewed his membership. Have not heard if he his entering any of his crotons.

Mark Peters is a new member and told me that he would be there if he does not have a conflicting show. :)

Wow - big response! You would not believe how many huge crotons that are entered in the show. There is lots of color in the display. The Judging commences today. Stop by this weekend, there are some cultivars I've never seen before!

Mike - yes there are vendors. Plus Jose has some very nice selections in the members booth.

Phil - I took many photos of the flora and fauna today but neglected to read tags - sorry.

Wow, Ron! Thanks so much for bringing the event to us. Makes me feel even more sorry I wasn't able to make it. Lovely plants of all kinds.
What eye candy. Lots of work to post so many. Thanks again for doing it for us.

Ana:D

Thanks Ron! Some great looking Crotons. First place Croton was...? My top 5 were post #8/#1 (also my fav of the group), p.#10/#1, p.#22/#1, p.#23/#2 and p.#24/#2.

Some I may know from memory, after spending a day with them. Post 8 Photo #1 is an exceptional Tiger Eye grown by Jose.

Scott - post 10 photo #1 is an UNknown, also grown by Jose. I've included two more shots here that were also in the thread. It was definitely one of my favorites. You can't tell scale from these photos. It has an overall height of 6 ft with some truly monster leaves.

Maria Nock and I were checking out this plant yesterday morning. We felt that it could be a Goldilocks. ;)
