The plant lists from the upcoming Spring Extravaganza are coming together into their early draft versions. It is so much easier posting them here, so I am starting with the Croton list that I am sure the people here have been waiting for.

Post any questions or comments here and I am sure Jeff will be able to answer them. I checked the spelling of the names to the best of my ability but if you see something that should be changed, post it here.

I tried to attach the list file as a regular .doc file but it exceeded the size limits. If you want to print the list out and your browser is giving you issues, select it all and copy and paste it into Word, etc. As always, the list and actual availability may change leading up to the sale, most often a few more will be added at the last minute.

OK - more than half of the crotons got taken on Friday. The collectors hit them pretty hard as usual. There still were alot of great selections available yesterday morning - I acquired 5 more for my collection: Louis Dupuy, Della McGee, Acubeafolium, MacAthurii and Helen Edge.

What did you guys and/or gals get?

It was great to see Jeff, Judy and Ron at the Sale yesterday! This sale has now become one of my favorite things to do. I was happy to come home with a few croton beauties:

Her Majesty (which I've already planted to round out a grouping of three whitish/green plants with different leaf shapes, White Ann Rutherford and Purity. I really like the contrasting leaf shapes, but with the same color)
- and -
President Reagan
Leopardia
Acubaefolia
Christmas
Davis #1
Louis Dupuy
L. M. Rutherford
Columbia
Lucky Gold

My sister went a little heavy on the non-croton variety plants yesterday, but the crotons she did bring home:

Rudy Bachman
MacArthurii
John Bender
Johannis
Wooten Beauty

This visit, I didn't even bring a wish list with me (well, except for wanting to replace my "Dr. Frank Brown"), so it was all impulse buying for me - or basically anything Judy or Ron suggested! Fun, fun, fun!

Thanks again, Jeff. Hope to see all you croton folk soon.

Leslie - you have passed the threshhold and now have trade bait. I don't have a L. M. Rutherford. Nor do I have a Lucky Gold. The Lucky Gold is one I don't believe has been offered at the sale before. There may not be too many of these around. Judy and I were checking it out and discussing the Lucky Gold just prior to your arrival. Glad it found a good home.

Both you and Crystal made good selections. The bug has definitely got you! When you have to have your plants tractored out on a flatbed trailer - you know the croton bug has got ya! LOL :D

Hey - what did everyone else get?

Nice looking Della there Moose. mine got toasted three years ago and has not bounced back. Time for an air layer and everything else gets the old heave ho into the trash.
