I've been driving by a mass of shrubbery in my neighbor for years. In that mass there are Mrs. Fred Sanders and Eleanor Roosevelt growing. This sport never caught my eye since they looked like Mrs. Fred Sanders from the a distance.

Has anyone seen a sport from an Eleanor Roosevelt like this ? :) Should I try an air layer this late in the season? ;)

Eleanor has been pretty cold tolerant. I'd wait until spring. However, I've rooted a load of ER cuttings over winter thanks to a neighbor who decided to trim his in early December.

Here are a couple of shots of the Mrs. Fred Sanders found in the mass of shrubbery. These have some nice blotching of yellow. :)

I went ahead and did the air layers anyway. They did not have as extensive a root development as hoped. While still alive, they are struggling. Hope they make it.

Also hope this sport regenerates out of the stubs left on the mother plant.
