Crossroad & Mary Queen of Scotts.Do they still exist??

The photo under the Duncan Macaw on page 18 ? That is very interesting Mike. Thank you for pointing it out. :)

And a possible sport from a Stoplight croton.net recalls. I would have never had guessed that. You learn something new about these majestic plants all the time. :)

I wonder if Keith has one, he has about one of everthing else. ;)

Crossroad Page 18,it was incorrectly listed as unnamed hybrid

Well, I disagree on at least two of these. ( I know, here we go again).

The first, page 18-UR, can't be a White Polychrome, Polychrome has shoulders and the croton in the picture clearly dosen't. It's a White Gloriosa, straight out of the Hayward's Garden.

And the second, page 54-LR, I still believe to be the correct Dreer #7. I have a Rapture and took it to the Glock's meeting this past December where Bob A. and Mark H. positively identified it as such. Their a little close, but side by side, their two worlds away.

I also just found another one to be highly questionable.

In the correction list, page 18-LR, it says it should be Crossroads, a sport from Stoplight. That's all fine, and looking at the above picture that Bud posted, it does look like it has Stoplight written all over it. BUT, his picture and the picture on page 18, are two totally different looking plants. At least to me. What do others think?

The picture posted by Bud looks like a Stoplight that I have that just never gets the good colors of Stoplight that it once had.

I'm too new to this to have a meaningfull opinion:) ."Crossroads" is a great looking croton whatever it is.Has anyone been able to verify this name??Does anyone have a current pic of Mary Queen of Scots??
Buds croton does not look like the croton on page 18.

The photo I posted is absolutely a sport from a stoplight and yes it is in a bad spot and has been thru several cold winters in western palm beach. The sport was air layered from a 7 foot stoplight I removed from someones yard.

Hi Bud,

Are you propagating this one at all to get more of it out there? We would hate to see it lost, trades are always welcomed w/ many of us.

When you think about it, Crossroad was a brillant naming of a sport from Stoplight. After all, Stoplights are found at Crossroads.

Mike - Mary Queen of Scots may very well be a "lost" cultivar. I am sure it is growing unknowingly in some garden. Looking into old yards needs to continue as old varieties are being removed by new owners all the time. :(
