So I was driving around in a top secret area today, came across a load of nice crotons, many I knew the names of, many I did not. Also talked to a 90yr old lady about the collection she had and heard the story behind it!

So what is this croton? any Ideas? should i go back and ask for cuttings or to do a airlayer!?

Anyways, we need to take a ride, it looks very, very promising though. And besides, the mist house will be up and "misting" by next week.:)

This past saturday, I drove down to Miami and hooked up with Rob and Ron to drive over and see this croton. At first, we just parked along the street and got out to have a look. The croton was large, maybe 12' tall and was close to the street. After about 10 minutes of looking and talking, and not thinking anyone was home I finally went up and knocked on the door. To our surprise, an elderly gentleman came to the door and I explained why the three of us was there. He came out and told us he had been living there for over 45 years and didn't or couldn't remember any history on the croton. I finally asked him if it was ok to get a couple of cuttings and he said sure.

So I got them stuck in the mist house yesterday. It's a pretty croton, but I really couldn't put a name to it.

With all this rain since your last post Rob, I certainly hope these babies got potted up to at least a two gallon container with some time released fertilizer!:p:rolleyes:
