Check out this Ti. I do not have any idea where I got it and has been around for a few years. It is showing some great colors now. Back of leaves are a nice pink. It may a seedling Ti. This is a single plant and when I have purchased plants I they have always had 3+ plants per pot. New growth in 5 pics last pic is of older leaf.

Are the last two posts different plants? In other words, do they look that different, or is that the camera? I really like the contrast of the deep black and deep crimson on the first one.

Dean, They are that different. All my Red Sisters have a olive green purple background color except for the one grouping with the dark background color. Here they are side by side. My fave is the top photo.

New plants from walmart... I'm hoping the first one isn't a repeat of something I have. There are two pics of the purple one... it's really purple.

Here is one that I grew from seed. I am really happy with how it turned out. It looks like someone painted it with pink fuchsia dabs.

What is interesting about that ti (and I just noticed the same thing on Miss Andrea too) is that the mid rib is yellow on top but red underneath.

Angela, Great plants! Ace Hardware here had a lot of Ti last year that I did not have. I was more into that other color leaf plant and did not purchase them. This year Red Sisters only are found there. Your new posting of another one of your seedlings has left me speechless.

Here is a different one from seed... I really like this one too... and it's very shiny like the other one.

Thanks Scott! You know what is funny is that when you have a few seedlings, you'll kind of have a favorite that will hold your attention for a while and you might not pay attention to the others. Since I had a few that ended up green and pink, I didn't really look at them. Today I was looking at them closely and finally saw how beautiful they turned out to be.

Look how ugly! It is olive green and pink! I'm hoping this seedling will morph but it already hit 3 ft. We could make it easy and call it "Angela's rule" LOL

More seedlings... the burgundy one actually has some glaucous on it, which makes it look more purple... I'm not sure if it is going to lose that coating later.

Scott I really like that streaky ti in #206! I know I already said that but...

Here's another seedling... looks like a weird peter buck.

I think this is all one plant. I'm pretty sure that's what Dean said.

What is the trick with Miss Andrea? I am on my second plant, they always peter out for me. What type of sun are you giving it?

Oops sorry, haven't checked this thread in a while! Bren, ours is in "full sun" at 2,100 ft (it rarely gets to 80˚ and rarely below 50˚). We have sunny mornings but we are on a west facing slope and usually by 11am, it is overcast. So maybe they like filtered light... just a guess.

Angela,

There's only one name for this plant, and it's Miss Andrea. I've seen in the trade a couple of other names come and go. But the tissue culture lab that produces it calls it Miss Andrea. Unlike many other pinks, reds and even purples, it's easy to confuse one from another. But, there's only one plant that produces these browns, yellow and cream colors, and it's Miss Andrea. I know of no other cordyline that really even comes close to it in looks.
